CELEBRATING THE LEGACY OF
SANDY POINT STABLES

Sandy Point Stables has been an enduring symbol of equestrian tradition and community connection since its founding by Reginald "Reggie" Vanderbilt in 1902. While at Sandy Point, Reggie became the founding president of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), a prominent organization that dedicated to uniting the equestrian community.
Under the Vanderbilts and, most recently, Jay Sargeant, Sandy Point has established a unique legacy in the local community. This legacy was the inspiration of Sandy Point Heritage Foundation.
Today, our programs are proudly offered at Glen Farm Stables. We are grateful to Clemens Equine, LLC for generously providing mentorship and a home for our mission.
Our programs draw on traditions established at Sandy Point and Glen Farm over the past century, and we're focused on creating opportunities that allow individuals of all backgrounds and abilities to experience these traditions and the transformative power of horses for a century to come.

GLEN FARM STABLES
Glen Estate is a historically significant property in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Established by the Taylor family in the late 19th century, it was a hub for agricultural endeavors and social gatherings.
The Glen Farm Stables complex was built between 1902 and 1911. In 1975, renowned horseman Mason Phelps created a variety of exciting events, including the International Jumping Derby, remembered by many for the Newport Roundup, an after party that attracted equestrians and socialites alike.
Today, stewarded by Clemens Equine, LLC, Glen Farm Stables stands as a testament to Portsmouth's agricultural and equestrian heritage. We are proud to call it our home.
